Global Partnerships

In 2011 we became part of the Connecting Classrooms programme and formed a link with a school in Freetown, Sierra Leone called Safinatu Najaha. The pupils at Priory Primary School have written letters, learned about life in Freetown and completed shared lessons with our friends in Sierra Leone. Since 2011, we have been fortunate enough to have visits from staff members of Safinatu Najaha to Priory Primary School. Mrs Jones, Mrs Matthews, Miss Christlow, Mrs Mellors and Miss Colthup have all been on return visits to Safinatu Najaha; strengthening our links with the staff and pupils and sharing good practice. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, our global work is taking a pause but we hope to strengthen our links over the coming year.

We are also members of the International Pupil Council (IPC). Our two IPC members attend

half-termly meetings to discuss global issues and work alongside the IPC in Sierra Leone.
